If you are in crisis, thinking about harming yourself, or suicidal, then, seek help right away:

Call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255) the toll-free, 24-hour hotline to be connected to a trained counselor at a suicide crisis center nearest you. Call 911 for emergency services. Call your doctor’s office. Go to the nearest hospital emergency room. Call the Ventura County Crisis Team at 1-866-998-2243. Ask a family member or friend to help make calls or help with transportation to the hospital. Ask a friend or family member to stay with you.

If your child, family member or friend is in crisis thinking about harming themselves, or suicidal, do not leave your child, family member or friend alone:

Try to get them to seek help immediately or you contact the Crisis Team, 911, an emergency room, suicide hotline, physician, or mental health professional.

Take seriously any comments about suicide or wishing to die. Even if you do not believe your child, family member, or friend will actually attempt suicide, the person is clearly in distress and can benefit from your help in receiving mental health treatment. Do not leave them alone.
